Cocaine Unicorn

Hegna played in numerous bands through high school and college before meeting Ryan Sumner, with whom he played in the bands Cocaine Unicorn and The Stores. Cocaine Unicorn have opened shows for bands such as The Warlocks, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Out Crowd at various times throughout their career. It was through Sumner that Hegna met and became a touring member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Hegna is best known as the current bass guitarist in the neo-psychedelic rock band, The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Other projects

Hegna is in a song-writing partnership with his friend, Carl Werner, in his own 'concept band', Federale. A band that plays soundtrack music for imaginary movies.

He is also involved Matt Hollywood's latest project, The Rebel Drones.
Hegna is a co-owner and founder of Revolver Studios, a recording studio in Portland, Oregon, which he operates with good friend Nalin Silva.
