Coleophora derasofasciella

Coleophora derasofasciella is a moth of the Coleophoridae family. It is found in the Alps in Austria, Italy and Slovenia.

The larvae feed on Dryas octopetala. They create a tubular silken case which is covered with frass grains on the outside. In the youth case, the frass cover is even and complete, in the full-grown case, the frass lies in lengthwise stripes. The full-grown case is three-valved and about 6.5–12 mm long. The mouth angle is about 45°. Full-grown larvae can be found in June.
