Cochliopidae is a family of small freshwater snails with gills and an operculum, aquatic gastropod mollusks. Paludestrina is an archaic synonym, and has been placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Names by ICZN Opinion 2202.
This family is in the superfamily Truncatelloidea and in the clade Littorinimorpha (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).
