History

Circle is rooted in the pacifist movement of Family Service Units (FSUs), which were established during World War II to support the resettlement of families from bombed out communities.

Units had been established across England during the war, and after the war they redirected their efforts to delivering social work services to families affected by the war. Circle became an independent charity focusing on the social work services in Scotland in 2006.

Work

Circle works across central Scotland with families affected by parental substance misuse, families affected by parental imprisonment and other vulnerable families.

As a learning organisation, Circle provides student placements to social work and community education students from universities across Scotland.
