Chatsworth International School is a co-educational, diverse and internationally minded school that caters to students from Kindergarten to Year 13 (Grade 12), aged 3 to 18+. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and is authorised to provide the IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) and Diploma Programme (IBDP).

History

Chatsworth International School opened in January 1995. It is a product of a handful of teachers and students founding the school in Upper Serangoon. In 1998, Chatsworth moved to a centrally located campus off Orchard Road, the original home of the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, which is designated as a heritage site. Today, the Orchard campus is part of the growing Chatsworth Group of Schools, which also includes an international primary school located on the East of Singapore catering to students from K through Year 6, as well as two Kindergartens running the local, Ministry of Education, curriculum.

Campuses and Facilities

Chatsworth International School has two campuses in Singapore.

  • Orchard Campus for K to Year 13 (Grade 12) located at 37 Emerald Hill Singapore 229313
  • East Campus for K to Year 6 (Primary only) located at 25 Jalan Tembusu Singapore 438234. This campus will cease operations in June 2018.
  • From August 2018, Chatsworth will open a new Bukit Timah Campus. located at 72 Bukit Tinggi Road, taking over the site of German European School Singapore. Chatsworth will cater to students from K to Year 13 (Grade 12) at the Bukit Timah campus.

    Curriculum

    The learning programme is guided by the school’s mission to inspire, educate and enlighten which forms the core pillars and education philosophy. The school provides a holistic and balanced education across the Arts, Education and Sports.

    Students from K1 to Year 6 (Grade 5) follow the IB Primary Years Programme where they are engaged actively in their learning whilst being encouraged to think more deeply and take action in their personal lives. Students from Year 7 to 11 (Grade 10) follow the IB Middle Years Programme. The programme emphasises intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world. Year 12 and 13 students take the IB Diploma Programme which is designed to prepare them for further education at the tertiary level.

    Beyond the Classroom

    Sports is an integral part of Chatsworth curriculum. The school is an active member of the Athletics Conferences of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS) where students aged 8 to 19 years old from Singapore’s international schools compete in a variety of sports. Students at Chatsworth can choose from a variety of sports including badminton, basketball, cross country, football, netball, touch rugby, swimming and ultimate frisbee.

    Co-curricular activities (CCAs) are offered for students from Year 1 before and after school. There are a variety of CCAs covering sports, arts, leadership, clubs and special interests. Chatsworth also participates in regional events involving the Arts such as the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) events.
