Charmaine is one of the many graduates from Belilios Public School and the School of Drama at The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in Hong Kong. From 2004 to 2014, she worked under Television Broadcasts Limited, then decided to leave TV acting to focus on business development. In the latter half of her TV career, she dated Ricky Fan (actor and DJ) and the two eventually got married. Charmaine and Ricky Fan registered their marriage in Guam on December 8, 2011 and held their wedding banquet on January 15, 2012 in Hong Kong. In the aftermath, Charmaine decided to focus on business development with Ricky and co-invested in an online diamond business. She and Ricky also have business investments in a restaurant, bowling alley, and film production. Although invested in several business projects, she still takes the time to film movies.
