Chalissery is a village and gram panchayat in the Palakkad district, state of Kerala, India... It is located 32 km from the Thrissur and 75 km from Palakkad, on the road between Guruvayoor and Palakkad. It is connected by road to other parts of Kerala and the nearest Railway station is Pattambi 13 km away and Guruvayoor 19 km away. Bharathapuzha Nila Riverflows through Thrithala, 10 km away. The Pakkanar Memorial, a tribute to the Pariah saint of Parayi petta panthirukulam can be found at Thrithala. It is believed to date back to the 9th/10th century AD. The debris of a Fort (Tipu Sultan Fort) can be seen behind Juma Mazjid, Koottanad between Koottanad and Chalissery Road.
