Cerotoma trifurcata (also known as the Bean leaf beetle) is a species of beetle in the Chrysomelidae family that can be found in the Eastern and West United States.

Description

Adult beetles are 3.5–5.5 millimetres (0.14–0.22 in) in length, and have a punctated elytron at their posterior region. The colour is orange with four black spots on its wings, but could come in red and yellow colour as well. The head is always black.

Habitat and Ecology

The beetle feeds mostly on vegetables that are in the cotyledon-stage, such as cucumbers, cucurbits, pumpkin, and squash. It also consumes legumes.
