Caroline grew up in Anlaby near Hull and attended Wolfreton School.

Radio

Caroline Bilton had established her broadcasting credentials at BBC Radio Cleveland and then at the BBC in Leeds before coming home to the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Television

Caroline frequently presents the opt-out bulletins during BBC News at One, BBC News at Six and BBC News at Ten. She also covers or reports on many of the Look North programmes throughout the day.

She is a regular host of many of Look North's live events. She shared centre stage with the Chuckle Brothers at the Christmas Lights festival in Hull, and broadcast from the reopening of the city's Wilberforce House.

Caroline joined Look North in Leeds when it was broadcast across the whole of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. When the BBC split the region into two, Caroline moved to present on the Hull editions of the programme.

She also covers for Peter Levy on the main edition of Look North and on his radio programme on BBC Humberside when he is on holiday.
