Carahsoft, founded in 2004, is a privately held IT solutions provider located in Reston, VA. Carahsoft is a government solutions provider, combining technological expertise with an understanding of government procurement processes to help agencies select and implement IT solutions. As a GSA Schedule Contract holder, Carahsoft serves as the master government aggregator for many of its vendors and connects professionals within Federal, state, and local government agencies as well as educational institutions. Business model

Carahsoft offers solutions focused on support data analysis and storage, cyber defense and security, business intelligence and other corporate and government functions. These are available through a variety of resellers and partners. Contract vehicles include GSA Schedule 70, SEWP-V, CMaaS BPA, and various other state and local contracts.

Overcharging allegations and settlement

In 2010 a lawsuit was filed against Carahsoft and VMware for allegedly overcharging government customers. The firms denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case with the United States Department of Justice for $75.5m.
