Canlan Ice Sports – York is the main ice rink at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The facility is operated by Canlan Ice Sports Corporation. The seating capacity is 1,200. It is the home of the York Lions men's and women's varsity hockey teams.

Contents

The facility has 6 Olympic sized ice rinks for hockey and other uses.

Ice Palace 1968-1996

The ice complex replaced the old York University Ice Palace, which was built in 1968 and was part of the University's Master Plan. The Ice Palace was small hockey rink that lacked sufficient seating for spectators and has since been converted as use as Sherman Health Science Research Centre.

Ice Gardens 1996-present

The facility was opened in 1996 as the Beatrice Ice Gardens. The arena is one of the largest in the city of Toronto and features six ice pads including one of Olympic size. The arena has been used in the past for various National Hockey League training camps. It is also used for hockey tournaments for Canlan.

The Beatrice Ice Gardens was purchased by Canlan Ice Sports Corporation in August 2007.

Beyond being used as an ice rink, the facility was used as a venue for exams. The old rink was transformed into Sherman Health Science Research Centre with the exterior walls retained.
