The college was founded in 1980.

Membership

CCSS is a member of: the Independent Schools' Council (ISC), the Independent Schools' Association (ISA), the Boarding Schools Association (BSA), the Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students (AEGIS), and the Council for Independent Education (CIFE)

Stuart Nicholson is currently Chairman-Elect of the ISA and a member of the Executive Council.
