On 3 July 2015, Burgui was loaned to RCD Espanyol in a season-long deal. He made his debut in La Liga on 22 August, replacing Álvaro González in a 1–0 home win over Getafe CF, and scored his first goal for the club on 15 December by equalising in a 2–1 success against Levante UD also at the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, in the second leg of the last 32 of the Copa del Rey (3–2 aggregate).
