Mki skytrain arrives at then departs braid station
Braid is an elevated station of the Expo Line, a part of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located in eastern New Westminster, near the Coquitlam border. The station was constructed as part of the original Millennium Line project and opened in 2002. For its first 14 years, Braid was served exclusively by Millennium Line trains, but following a SkyTrain service reorganization in 2016, service was replaced by a branch of the Expo Line running between Waterfront and Production Way–University.

Location
Braid station is located at the northwest corner of Brunette Avenue and Braid Street, just south of the Trans-Canada Highway.
History
The station was built in 2002 as part of the Millennium Line. Before the Millennium Line was complete, a short spur from Columbia station was opened in eastern New Westminster, as a test track; Braid station was the temporary terminus of this spur until the line to Commercial Drive was open to the public. In October 2016, Millennium Line service to Braid has ended and the Expo Line is now operating from this station.
Each station along the original Millennium Line route features a unique design, and Braid is no different. Artwork at Braid features wooden timbers inside the platform level, and pavers with inspirational words that imply positive things installed into the station lobby floor.
On October 22, 2016, SkyTrain service was reconfigured in anticipation of the opening of the Evergreen Extension. As a result, the Millennium Line no longer serves Braid. Instead, it is served by a branch of the Expo Line that travels from Waterfront to Production Way-University via Columbia.
Services
This station is a major transfer point for TransLink bus routes serving the northeast sector of the Metro Vancouver; these buses serve Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and New Westminster. There is a convenience store located at the ground level to serve riders.
