Etymology

The specific name, dumerilianus, is in honor of French herpetologist André Marie Constant Duméril.

Geographic range

P. dumerilianus is found in Brazil (Amazonas, Pará), Colombia, French Guiana, Venezuela, Ecuador, and possibly Peru.
