Bemidji regional airport


Bemidji Regional Airport (IATA: BJI, ICAO: KBJI, FAA LID: BJI) is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northwest of the central business district of Bemidji, a city in Beltrami County, Minnesota, United States. It is owned by the city of Bemidji and Beltrami County.

The airport is mostly used for general aviation. It is served by SkyWest Airlines, operating under the Delta Connection banner for Delta Air Lines. In July 2010, work began on an $8.9 million airport terminal expansion and renovation project that would double the size of the terminal.

Facilities and aircraft

Bemidji Regional Airport covers an area of 1,740 acres (700 ha) at an elevation of 1,391 feet (424 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt paved runways: 13/31 is 7,004 by 150 feet (2,135 x 46 m) and 7/25 is 5,700 by 150 feet (1,737 x 46 m).

For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2015, the airport had 13,251 aircraft operations, an average of 36 per day: 59% general aviation, 23% scheduled commercial, 13% air taxi and 5% military. In January 2017, there were 60 aircraft based at this airport: 27 single-engine, 30 multi-engine and 3 helicopter.

Medevac

BJI is also the home to one of five medical evacuation (medevac) helicopter flight stations in the state for AirCare, operated by North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN, a Level 1 Trauma Center located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This station covers the northern part of Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.
