History

Bay Area Medical Academy was founded in 2005 in San Francisco, California. President Simonida Cvejic founded the school to be a social enterprise, with the mission to transform people's lives by providing job-oriented training in high-growth, high-demand areas of the health care field. BAMA was launched and incubated at the Renaissance Center, a local entrepreneurship center funded by the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Economic Development, and the school grew through micro-loans from the Opportunity Fund.

Bay Area Medical Academy holds National Accreditation through the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) in Washington, DC.

Cvejic and BAMA's story have been featured in several national publications, including Huffington Post, Forbes, the San Francisco Chronicle, and more.

Programs of Study

Bay Area Medical Academy offers education programs for students training to be phlebotomy technicians, pharmacy technicians, EKG technicians, and/or certified nursing assistants. BAMA also offers training courses for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
