The belvue museum in brussels needs your help to open its new exhibition

The BELvue Museum (French: Musée BELvue, Dutch: BELvue Museum) is a history museum in Brussels, Belgium focused on the history of Belgium and the its monarchy.

Contents

The museum is located in the Hôtel Bellevue, a 17th-century hôtel (townhouse), next to the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Museum

In 1977, the Hôtel Bellevue was converted into a museum building, housing a collection from the nearby Royal Museums of Art and History. After 1992, two small museums opened in the building relating to the history of the Belgian monarchy: the Dynasty Museum (Musée de la Dynastie) and the King Baudouin Memorial (Mémorial Roi Baudouin).

In 2005, the Hôtel Bellevue reopened as a museum devoted to the history of Belgium, presenting a chronological display about the nation's history since 1830. The permanent collection was reformed in 2016 and currently presents a thematic approach to Belgian history, with rooms devoted to democracy, prosperity, solidarity, pluralism, migration, language and Europe.

The BELvue Museum is managed by the Fonds BELvue (BELvue Fund) of the King Baudouin Foundation.
