Career
Romero attended Pedro Menendez High School in St. Augustine, Florida. In September 2010, he committed to the University of Florida to play college baseball.
Romero was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the third round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. He signed with the Marlins rather than attend Florida. Romero made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Marlins and also played for the Jamestown Jammers. Romero played 2013 with the Batavia Muckdogs and Greensboro Grasshoppers and started 2014 with Greensboro. In July he was promoted to the Jupiter Hammerheads.
