Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Cassara grew up in a suburb located on the east side of Ottawa named Orleans. At the age of 4 years old his mother entered him into a singing competition with the grand prize of winning concert tickets to see the Backstreet Boys. Cassara surprised the judges and won first place. Despite him being the youngest entered in the competition, he knew all the words to every song. It was at that moment that he knew music was his favourite thing. At the age of 13 while attending École secondaire catholique Béatrice-Desloges he started uploading covers on YouTube onto his channel, racking up several thousand views. He started receiving recognition from music industry insiders.
