Andrew Cassara (born December 12, 1995) is a Canadian singer.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Cassara grew up in a suburb located on the east side of Ottawa named Orleans. At the age of 4 years old his mother entered him into a singing competition with the grand prize of winning concert tickets to see the Backstreet Boys. Cassara surprised the judges and won first place. Despite him being the youngest entered in the competition, he knew all the words to every song. It was at that moment that he knew music was his favourite thing. At the age of 13 while attending École secondaire catholique Béatrice-Desloges he started uploading covers on YouTube onto his channel, racking up several thousand views. He started receiving recognition from music industry insiders.
At the age of 16, Cassara switched from making covers to writing his first song which contributed to getting him ranked #1 on the Reverbnation charts in Canada. Following that accomplishment, Cassara caught the attention of Producer Steve Gardiner: founder of the record label SGMGroupArtists in Ottawa. Shortly after, he signed a development deal with the company.
Cassara's influences are Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Maroon 5, Backstreet Boys, NSync and Justin Timberlake.
Cassara released his debut EP " I Know " in 2013 following the success of his first songs released. After the release, Cassara spent the year promoting his EP by playing festivals, shows and opening for bands in Canada.
In 2015, Cassara released his biggest single to date: "That's Some Crazy". The song has gained some popularity online on social media as well as gaining some radio airplay on Top 40 Canadian Radio Stations. In Early 2016, Cassara changed paths from performing live with dancers to performing with a live band to create better entertainment for his audiences and fans. Shortly after receiving feedback from critics, it was set in stone that his image and sound needed to mature. Following these events, guitarist; Casey Mader, bassist Andy Vasquez, as well as drummer; Jonathan Carlson were added to his team. With the release of the music video, single release parties and performing it live around the country, Cassara is preparing to possibly head off on his first Cross-Canada wide tour with the YouthXCanada Music Tour in Summer 2017. Cassara will be the headliner of the featured tour and will playing across all Provinces and Territories in the Country. With the goal of inspiring children all around the country, Cassara will be partnering with the organisation entitled: "Partners for Mental Health" & SGMGroupArtists to show kids all around the country that their voice needs to be heard.2013: "Live Your Life"
