I Send You This Place
Andrea Sisson is an American interdisciplinary artist working in installation, imagery, performance, video/film, writing, sound, and conceptualist art. She is a 2010 U.S. Fulbright Program Fellow for academia and art, and named a Filmmaker Magazine "25 New Face of Independent Film" 2013.
Sisson and then collaborator Pete Ohs were named on the list of "25 New Faces of Indie Film" by Filmmaker in 2013. Her experimental documentary I Send You This Place, (made in part by the U.S. Fulbright Foundation) was an official selection of the 2012 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the 2012 Reykjavík International Film Festival, and New York's Video Art & Experimental Film Festival. Her work (collaborative and personal) has been shown at the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Dallas Contemporary, and Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center. Sisson directed the widely-celebrated film for Nowness, a short film which breaks down the complicated choreography of the popular video for Sia's "Chandelier" into hilarious references that even a non-dancer could understand. She is co-director, producer and visual artist/designer of the independent sci-fi film Everything Beautiful Is Far Away premiering at the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival, taking home the U.S. Cinematography Award.
Andrea Sisson lives Los Angeles.
