Anai patti

Anai patti or Nagaiya Goundan patti is a village in the Theni district in the western part of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Introduction

It is a foot hill village near to the Western Ghats. It is inhabited by Goundar and Devar community people, mainly employed in agriculture. The main crops are beetroot, banana, onion, nookkal and grapes. Karumari Amman, Muthalamman and Karuppu Sami kovil festivals are celebrated here. The Emmanu gounders celebrates their pongal festival in garden temple Lord Muruga.

The total population is around 10,000.

This village has only one medical shop and primary hospital with a nurse but no doctor, no post office, and no bank. Cumbum is the nearest town where people go get A-Z items. Anai patti has a middle school. For high school education, students go to the nearby village of Royappan patti.

The village is close to the lakes formed by the Shanmuganathi Dam the Mullaperiyar Dam.
