Amritsar Bus Rapid Transit System (Amritsar MetroBus) is the bus rapid transit (BRT) system currently operational in Amritsar, Punjab, India and is the first hybrid public transportation of India to be a hybrid between a Bus Rapid Transit and a Metro Rail. BRTS had to start operation in December 2015. The project was commenced on 19 September 2013. Amritsar BRTS is based on Ahmedabad BRTS model. The BRTS will operate with 93 Air-conditioned buses. This project would allow easy travel to different places in city like the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Guru Nanak Dev University and Khalsa College. Amritsar BRTS is constructed on the lines of Metrobus (Istanbul). Volvo Buses showed its interest in BRTS project at the holy city of Amritsar.

Construction
Varaha Infra Ltd a company based in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) is executing this project. Construction work started on 26 February 2015. As of September 2016, 90% of work has been completed.
