Algonac State Park is a 1,450-acre (5.9 km2) state park in St. Clair County, Michigan. The park has approximately a half mile (800 m) of St. Clair River frontage, making viewing of international freighters a major attraction.

EcologyEdit

Approximately 83% of the park's area is undeveloped. This undeveloped portion of the park encompasses significant lakeplain prairie and oak openings (savannas), which have been described as unique natural environments in Michigan. The park is home to at least 22 plant and animal species classified as endangered, threatened, or special concern .
