Alfonso Reyes Cabanas (born September 19, 1971) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player, who finished his career playing for Leche Río Breogán. His younger brother, Felipe, is also a professional basketball player.

Professional career

Reyes was the MVP of the Spanish Cup's 2000 tournament. He announced his retirement from playing professional basketball in May 2007.

Spanish national team

Reyes played with the senior Spanish national basketball team at the following tournaments: the 1995 EuroBasket, the EuroBasket 1997, the 1998 FIBA World Championship, the EuroBasket 1999, the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, the EuroBasket 2001, the 2002 FIBA World Championship, and the EuroBasket 2003.

With Spain, he won a silver medal at the EuroBasket 1999, a bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2001, and a silver medal at the EuroBasket 2003.

Post playing career

Nowadays, Reyes works as a civil engineer., and serves as president of the Spanish Basketball mens player's union (ABP).
