Biography

Born in Florence in 1972, Alessandra Ammara studied with Roberto Caglieri, Maria Tipo, Paul Badura-Skoda, Franco Scala, Boris Petrushansky, Vitaly Margulis, Fou Ts'ong, WIlliam Grant Naborè. Her international career started in 2000, when she was one of the three top prize winners at the Esther Honens competition in Calgary. She also won major prizes in other piano competitions, like the Casagrande, Viotti, Iturbi, Callas. Alessandra Ammara performed at Musikverein in Wien, at Festspielhaus in Salzburg, at Philharmonie in Berlin and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Her debut in Washington was enthusiastically reviewed by the Washington Post. Since 1999, she forms a piano duet with her husband Roberto Prosseda. In May 2013, after some years dedicated to the family and her two young children, Alessandra Ammara has come back in the international concert career.
