Roca also represented CE L'Hospitalet, Atletico Madrileno, Palamos CF, Deportivo Aragon and CE Sabadell FC, alternating between the second and the third levels.

Coaching career

Roca began his managing career in 1998, at CE Europa in Tercera Division. His debut couldn't have been better, as he won the Catalonia Cup against FC Barcelona in the final. He then coached AEC Manlleu for one season.

In 2001, Roca was appointed second team head coach and first team assistant coach of CE Sabadell FC for two seasons before beginning his partnership with Frank Rijkaard which would span ten years, three separate teams (FC Barcelona, Galatasaray, and Saudi Arabia national football team) and lead to winning several titles including La Liga, Supercopa de Espana and the UEFA Champions League.

After exiting his post with the Saudi Arabia national football team in 2013, Roca was appointed as the new manager of the El Salvador national football team in 2014. His first match as head coach was against Ivory Coast national football team on 4 June 2014 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. El Salvador lost with a score of 1-2. Also, his second match was against Spain national football team. El Salvador lost with a score of 0-2.

Vicente Del Bosque, Spain's head coach said this about El Salvador's players: "They were disciplined. Tactically they played well," Del Bosque said. "They made it difficult for us to impose our will on the game.".

His first victory was against Dominican Republic national football team on 30 August 2014 at San Salvador. El Salvador won with a score of 2-0.
