Early life
Born in Vellore, Johnson graduated with a bachelor's degree in biotechnology at Karunya University and a master of science in molecular medicine at University College London. At the age of 10, he started making art. He said, "Being able to telling stories through my art that promotes social awareness, love, hope and encouragement is something I love."
Science
Johnson graduated from University College London in 2011 and worked at the Indian Institute of Science. In 2012, he moved to Singapore to work at the National Cancer Centre where he took on a project to develop a cell based gene therapy for haemophilia patients. In 2014 he started pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in cancer genetics and genomics at the University of Edinburgh. He focuses on understanding the differences in molecular signature of immune cells across tumours. He uses large cancer datasets to identify, characterize and model immune system across different tumour types. His work involves an extensive degree of both wet lab and computational based analysis.
Art
Ajit made his début as an artist with his release of "This Generation" series which exemplifies the need to acknowledge technology addiction. In April 2015, in association with The Logical Indians, he initiated an on-line campaign to raise awareness on net neutrality in India.
