History

The oldest human remains in Alsace, dating from the Paleolithic era, were found at Achenheim. The village was burnt down by the people of Strasbourg in 1262, during a war with Bishop Walter von Geroldseck.

Geography

Achenheim is a village in the Bas-Rhin district of Strasbourg and in the township of Mundolsheim, near the Canal de la Bruche and the departmental road from Flexbourg to Strasbourg.
