The ACM Assiut University Student Chapter (ACM-AUSC) is a non-profit organization. Established in June 2015, the primary goal of the chapter is to improve Assiut University's student‘s computing skills. The program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students covering both technical or research oriented skillsets.

Vision

The chapter's vision of improvement is focused on elevating Assiut university student's comparative and competitive advantage nationally and internationally.

Mission

The chapter's mission is:

  1. To organize a series of events, talks, research projects, training, and other activities to the students of Assiut University.
  2. To encourage and attract volunteers, mainly ACM student members, faculty members and others, to organize, maintain and engage in all of these activities.
  3. To bring support to the chapter. Currently, the chapter is receiving a strong support from Assiut university‘s Faculty of Computers and Information (FCI).

Activities

  1. Technical Sessions
    1. The activity is aims to introduce two short sessions per month about some recent hot topic in computing and technology,
    2. We aim to target keynote speakers who have noticeable contribution in academia and industry,
    3. All activities are recorded and published on YouTube.
  2. (ACM-AUSC) Research Lab
    1. The activity is aims to teach and train a group of students about the basic research skills and scientific writing,
    2. The activity is aims to encourage students to publish articles and peer review researches.
  3. Technical Trainings
    1. This is a long term activity that aims to teach and train a group of students the necessary skills of a specific hot technology through a series of labs and lectures,
    2. The hot technology could be but not limited at:
      1. Mobile Applications,
      2. Arduino Programming,
      3. Software Testing,
      4. Open source,
      5. Cloud Computing.
  4. International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) training
    1. (ICPC) is an international programming competition that brings students from all over the world to test their programming skills,
    2. The activity provides a guiding coach for the students who are interested in joining the competition.
  5. (ACM-AUSC) Magazine
    1. The magazine publishes articles about scientific and technological fields of interest,
    2. The magazine publishes two volumes per year.
