The 2016 Selangor FA Season is Selangor FA's 11th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004.

Selangor FA began the season on 7 February 2016. They will also compete in three domestic cups: the FA Cup Malaysia, Malaysia Cup; the Malaysia Charity Shield; and an international cup, the AFC Cup.
Pre-season
Malaysia Cup Winners 2015 winning coach Mehmet Durakovic's contract was terminated on December 2015. He was then replaced by Zainal Abidin Hassan from Pahang FC on January 2016.
The new coach Zainal Abidin brought four players from his old club, Hafiz Kamal, R. Gopinathan, Khairul Azhan and Razman Roslan. They signed long term deals with the club, with Razman Roslan returning after with Pahang in victorious successful years with his former club. Argentinian striker Mauro Olivi and Liberian striker Patrick Wleh also joined the club, to replace Guilherme de Paula and Leandro dos Santos; after this both their contracts were not renewed by the club.
The contracts of import Indonesian player Andik Vermansyah were renewed for another two years and are set to expire in the summer of 2017. Robert Cornthwaite extended his contract until the end of 2016.
On 18 December 2015, Hamsani Ahmad was forced to retire. Shazlan Alias and Afiq Azmi were sold to Negeri Sembilan FA on the same day, while Syamim Othman and Thamil Arasu joined Kuala Lumpur FA after the ending of their contract and K. Thanaraj to Sarawak FA.
The schedule of the season was announced on 19 January 2016.
On February 2016, Adam Nor Azlin was signed from Harimau Muda A.
