  • March 4 - Turkish Airlines Flight TK726, landing in dense fog in Kathmandu, skids off a slippery runway, however, there are no serious injuries.

  • April 25 - A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal 34 km (21 mi) east southeast of Lamjung at a depth of 15.0 km (9.3 mi). In total, at least 10000 people were killed in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and China.
