The 2014 New Zealand Open Grand Prix was the fifth grand prix gold and grand prix tournament of the 2014 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held in North Shore Events Centre, Auckland, New Zealand April 15-19, 2014 and had a total purse of $50,000. This international event will chase world ranking points, with qualifying for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and World Championships in Denmark. The tournament was broadcast live in New Zealand on SKY Sport on Saturday 19 April from 1pm to 5pm and transmitted live into Asia to Southern China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines with other markets still to be confirmed. Already however, confirmed coverage will reach over 15 million households.

The Indonesian team won the men's and mixed doubles events. In the men's doubles, Selvanus Geh and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo won the title after defeat Chen Hung-ling and Lu Chia-pin of Chinese Taipei, while in the mixed doubles, Alfian Eko Prasetya and Annisa Saufika emerged victorious in a match between two Indonesian teams. The pair beat Edi Subaktiar and Melati Daeva Oktaviani. Wang Tzu-wei of Chinese Taipei won the men's singles title after beating his fellow countryman Hsu Jen-hao in the straight game. In the women's singles final it was another one-sided affair with Japan's Nozomi Okuhara completely outclassing her senior Kana Ito with the score 2-0. Australia finally won the second Grand Prix title since 2009, after Tang He Tian and Renuga Veeran beat the former world number 3 Shizuka Matsuo and Mami Naito in the rubber game.
