Season overview

Ünal Aysal was elected as the new president of Galatasaray in May 2011. After his election, he made an agreement with coach Fatih Terim for the season 2011-12. The club signed Swedish international striker Johan Elmander for three seasons from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer.

Galatasaray start the 2011-12 season with a training session to be held in Florya on Monday June 27, 2011. On July 2, Galatasaray will be leaving for Austria in order to camp near the town of Wörgl until July 12.
