Standings

World standings and season's best scores from the 2009–2010 season were used to decide entrants to the 2010-2011 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, and were used throughout the season to rank skaters for short program draws in specific competitions. In the case that a pair or dance team split before the new season, the next team on the list took their place in the rankings as far as seeding and the Grand Prix were concerned.

World standings

Following the 2009–2010 season, the ISU World Standings were computed based on the previous two complete seasons. 100% of the World standings points accumulated in 2009–2010 and 70% of the points accumulated in 2008–2009 counted towards the new world standings.

World Standings points are awarded for

  • the best placement at an ISU Championship or Winter Olympic Games
  • the best placement at a Grand Prix or Junior Grand Prix event
