Zapogon evermanni, Evermann's cardinalfish, is a species of cardinalfish native to tropical reefs in the Indian and Pacific oceans and the western Atlantic Ocean.

It occurs deep in reef caves where it swims along the ceilings upside-down. It is found at depths of from 3 to 69 metres (9.8 to 226.4 ft). This species grows to a length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in) SL.
