Zafar Ali Hilaly (Urdu:ظفر ہلالی), born 1942, is a Pakistani political analyst and diplomat who has previously served as his country's ambassador to Yemen, Nigeria, and from February 2001 Italy. His forefathers were originally from Persia who fled the court of the last Shah of the Qajar dynasty of Iran in the 19th century for unknown reasons and settled in South India. His father Agha Hilaly and paternal uncle Agha Shahi were both diplomats. He was educated at Highgate School.
