Yuri Vladimirovich Trushin (Russian: Юрий Владимирович Трушин, born 14 August 1945 in Leningrad) is Russian physicist and professor of Physics and Mathematics. He is a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and has been recognized as an Honored Scientist by the Russian Federation.

Biography

Trushin Yuri Vladimirovich was born in Leningrad on 14 August 1945. Russian physicist, Professor and Doctor of Physics and Mathematics. He is an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and has been recognized as an Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. He is currently the Academic Secretary at Nanotechnology Education and Research Center of Russian Academy of Science.

Trushin Yuri is also working as a chief scientific officer in Ioffe Institute of Physics RAS and in Academical University.

His research interests include theory and computer modelling of physical processes, kinetics and evolution of structural defects, as well as radiation impact in multi-component crystalline materials, such as metals, semiconductors, and high-temperature materials.

He has written over 1,500 cited works, published in peer-reviewed journals, Hirsch index 11[1].

He is a member of the editorial board of the Ioffe Institute's Technical Physics Journal. Журнала технической физики

  • In 1969 — he graduated from the Department of Physics at Leningrad State University, as Chair of Quantum Mechanics with specialization in Theoretical Physics, and started his scientific career at the Krilov Central Research Institute. закончил физический факультет Ленинградского
  • In 1975 — he defended his PHD at Leningrad Polytechnical Institute with specialization N01.04.07 Physics of solid state: "Theory of radiation cascades in solid state".
  • In 1989 — he defended his Doctor of science thesis in "Moscow Institute of Electronic Machinery" with the specialization in N 01.04.07 Physics of solid state: "Theory of radiation processes in solid solutions in various phases of dissociation".
  • Since 1974 — he has been working at the Ioffe Institute as a chief research scientist at the department of theoretical microelectronics.
  • Since 1991 — he has been a professor at the department of nanotechnology at Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University
  • Since 2004 — he has been working as the Academic Secretary at the Department of Physics of Condensed Matter and Nanotechnology Education and Research Center, and Chief Research Scientist at the Nanotechnology Laboratory at Saint Petersburg Academic University, as well as a professor at the Saint Petersburg National Research Academic University.
  • In 1999 — he was elected as a Member Correspondent of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
  • He became the "Honored Scientist" of the Russian Federation.
