Jay Gould and Caitlin Gould founded Yashi in 2007.
According to Inc. Magazine, between 2008 and 2012 the company’s revenue rose from $750,000 to $6.5 million. From 2010 to 2013, the company's revenue grew 382%, from 2.9M to 14.1M. This growth landed Yashi on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies for the third consecutive year. Yashi's final reporting as a private company was recorded in 2014 when the company was named to the Inc. 5000 for a fourth consecutive year with a revenue of $25.3 million.
On February 2, 2015, Yashi was acquired by Nexstar Broadcasting Group for $33 million.
