Early life
Yani Mo was born in Lithonia, Georgia. She learned to rap at the age of 12 and recorded her first songs from a microphone hanging on a ceiling fan. She later attended Georgia Southern University where she majored in journalism and was one of the founding members of the Random Acts of Poetry (RAP) creative collective. After dropping out in her senior year, she moved back to Atlanta where she became prominent in the local hip hop scene. In 2016, she released her debut album Space & Simplicity Part 1.
