Yên Thế is a rural district of Bắc Giang Province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 91,934. The district covers an area of 301 km2. The district capital lies at Bố Hạ. This is the homeland of Struggle of Yên Thế's farmers.

History

The area was the base of the Yên Thế Insurrection which lasted from 1887-1913.

The famous product of this district is cam sành - a hardy variety of southern ginseng which grows on the mountain of Chung Sơn in Yên Thế district.
