Xuejun Wen is a Chinese bioengineer, the Hansjörg Wyss Professor of Regenerative Medicine at Clemson University.

Biography

Wen was born in May 1971 at Linzhou City, Henan Province, P.R. China. He got his medical training at Henan Medical University (now part of Zhengzhou University) in 1994. Then he continued his engineering training at Zhejiang University and got Master Graduate Degree in Metallic Biomaterials. In 1997, he moved to USA and attended University of Cincinnati for his second Master Graduate Study in Bioceramics; and he got his MS degree in 2000. Then he continued his doctoral training in University of Utah majored in Bioengineering and graduated with PhD Degree in 2003. Without postdoc training, he took a tenure track position at the Department of Bioengineering in Clemson University. He is the first on Clemson Bioengineering recruited to start the joint Bioengineering Program between Clemson University and Medical University of South Carolina. In 2008, he was promoted into associate professor with tenure after 4 years of work as assistant professor. In 2010, he was promoted to full professor and also becomes the first holder of Hansjörg Wyss Endowed Chair Professor in Regenerative Medicine in the State of South Carolina.
