World Fingerpainting Day is a global event organized by RepoSocial, a non-profit community activist group based in Sydney, Australia.

Background

World Fingerpainting Day is held on the second Sunday of September annually, it asks people to gather in their city's biggest metropolitan parks to celebrate creativity, community togetherness and offers opportunity for the exhibition of non-professional, citizen artwork in public spaces, spaces primarily dominated by advertising and corporate communications. World Fingerpainting Day was conceived by RepoSocial in 2011, that year following Sydney's lead, people in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Bristol (UK), Miami, Los Angeles, Oslo and New York are said to have participated.
