Winters Brothers is a privately-held business headquartered in Westbury, New York. The company has a history of serving Florida, Vermont, New York and Connecticut markets, but currently only serves the markets of New York and Connecticut. Having six recycling centers and twelve transfer stations, Winters Bros. is the largest waste management firm in Long Island, and one of the largest in Connecticut. In 2011, Winters Bros. purchased the 25 waste disposal companies formerly owned by James Galante in order to expand into the Connecticut market. Their Connecticut headquarters is located in the city of Danbury.

Facilities

Winters Bros. has its largest facility located in West Babylon, NY which handles recycling, transfers, and hauling. Other transfer stations and yards are located in Glen Cove, NY, Medford, NY, Old Bethpage, NY and Yaphank, NY. Their two facilities in Connecticut are located in the cities of Danbury and Shelton. The Danbury facility also utilizes the Housatonic Railroad's Maybrook Line for waste disposal services, which runs directly next to the facility. This facility also operates one of the newest, most advanced single-stream recycling plants in the state.

Equipment

Winters Bros. has a collection of over 200 vehicles, which include trucks for residential, commercial, industrial and construction pickups. Regular trucks are all equipped with robotic arms used to collect trash bins and dumpsters without the need for workers to exit the vehicles. Flatbed trucks are used for special pickups that are too large for normal trucks and hauling away construction waste.
