Wingrove & Rogers

Wingrove & Rogers Ltd of Kirkby, Liverpool, England, were manufacturers of variable capacitors, the components essential for tuning in the front end of radio receivers, from the 1920s on and throughout the second world war during which they supplied the armed forces. Later they also built industrial vehicles including both small electrically motorised trolleys and electric locomotives (mainly narrow gauge), largely for use in mines and by tunnelling contractors.

They were successors to British Electric Vehicles Ltd which closed in 1926. Wingrove & Rogers were bought by Pikrose in the early 1990s.
