The Wimbledon Line Enhancement Programme is a £30 million plan funded by Transport for London, London Tramlink and the London Borough of Croydon, London Borough of Merton and the London Borough of Sutton.

Programme
The Wimbledon Line Enhancement Programme is split down to three key steps:
Work to build an additional platform at Wimbledon runs from 13 July until the end of October. During this period, trams start and terminate at Dundonald Road Tram Stop, which is approximately 10 minutes away from Wimbledon by foot. The new platform - north of the existing tram stop - will allow trams to arrive and depart Wimbledon station more often. Other improvements include the installation of additional ticket validators and a new passenger information display on the platform.
These will be added to the networks current 30 trams by April 2016
This additional tracking, in operation since November, has reduced the waiting times for trams to clear this section and improve reliability.
