Academic Decathlon
In March 2016 the Wilmot Academic Decathlon team won its third consecutive state title. Winning the state title has qualified the Wilmot Academic Decathlon team to participate in the national competition over the same three-year span. Their first nationals were held in Honolulu, Hawaii, where the team finished runner-up in division II. The next two nationals appearances led to division II national championships which were held in Garden Grove, CA, and Anchorage, AK, respectively. As a result of their second consecutive national championship, Governor Scott Walker personally visited Wilmot Union High School and proclaimed June 1, 2016, Wilmot Union High School Academic Decathlon Team Day throughout the state of Wisconsin. The team was established in 2004
Music
On June 11, 2011, a student-lead pop group won a statewide WSMA Battle Of The Bands competition, "The Les Paul Launchpad Competition", and earned the school's band program $5,000. The music department used the money to purchase four Yamaha electric pianos, and has gotten approval from the school board to create The Chase Promenade Midi and Piano Laboratory to house these instruments. The Laboratory will be used for classes such as Small Pop Ensemble.
