History

A single platform station had existed near the site of the present station since 1860, on the Stratford-upon-Avon Railway's Hatton to Stratford branch line.

The present two platform station dates from 1908, when the Great Western Railway doubled and upgraded this part of the branch line to main line standards, as part of the inauguration of its North Warwickshire Line, which created a new main line route between Birmingham and Cheltenham Spa.

Services

London Midland serves Wilmcote with hourly local trains between Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham Snow Hill via Shirley. Most northbound trains continue to Stourbridge Junction on weekdays/Saturdays and Worcester Foregate Street on Sundays.

Chiltern Railways also serves Wilmcote, with 10 trains per day each way between Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa; three of these are through services that continue to London Marylebone on weekdays only.
