Wills Wing Eagle

Design and development

The Eagle was designed as an intermediate-level glider. It is made from aluminum tubing, with the mostly double-surface wing covered in Dacron sailcloth and cable braced from a single kingpost. Its nose angle is 122°.

The models are each named for their rough wing area in square feet. The Eagle was certified to HGMA and DHV standards.

Variants

Eagle 145

Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its span wing is 9.4 m (30.8 ft), the wing area is 13.4 m² (144 sq ft) and the aspect ratio is 6.2:1. The pilot hook-in weight range is 57 to 91 kg (126 to 201 lb).

Eagle 164

Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its span wing is 9.75 m (32.0 ft), the wing area is 15.3 m² (165 sq ft) and the aspect ratio is 6.6:1. The pilot hook-in weight range is 68 to 113 kg (150 to 249 lb).

Eagle 180

Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its span wing is 10.1 m (33.1 ft), the wing area is 16.7 m² (180 sq ft) and the aspect ratio is 6.1:1. The pilot hook-in weight range is 79 to 125 kg (174 to 276 lb).
