About Willow Creek Association

Willow Creek Association (WCA) is committed to the singular idea that inspired, encouraged and equipped Christian leaders transform their communities. The leaders we serve are not just full-time ministry staff, but leaders in all sectors of society committed to pursuing their grander visions—whatever they might be. Since 1992, WCA has served Christians through events like The Global Leadership Summit.

WCA Membership is a community of innovative churches sharing a common vision of supporting the building of biblically functioning churches globally, representing members from diverse churches, denominations, regions, cultures and ethnicities who want to learn from each other and see the Church thrive around the world.

The Global Leadership Summit

The Global Leadership Summit is a two-day event telecast LIVE in HD from Willow’s campus near Chicago every August to 550+ locations in the United States. Throughout the fall, the Summit takes place via videocast at an additional 675+ sites in 125 countries and 59 languages. In 2016, more than 305,000 leaders attended worldwide.

More than an event, the Summit is a resource to be leveraged for community transformation. Leaders are discovering that by attending the Summit and utilizing its content and tools, their teams are increasing their impact. In fact, independent research shows that 83% of leaders who attended the Summit in consecutive years feel improved teamwork, increased job satisfaction and productivity.

Each year, this event features experts in the arena of leadership in lecture and interview formats. Past speakers have included Bono (former Time Magazine Co-Man of the Year and U2 lead singer), Ken Blanchard ("The One Minute Manager"), Marcus Buckingham ("StrengthFinders"), Jim Collins ("Good to Great" and "Built to Last"), and Mike Singletary (NFL Hall of Fame linebacker for the Chicago Bears). The 2007 event featured live and taped sessions with Colin Powell, Carly Fiorina, Floyd Flake, Marcus Buckingham, John Ortberg, Michael E. Porter (Harvard), Richard Curtis (film producer) and Former president Jimmy Carter.
